The Seen Self

Emotive Portraiture and Photo-Based Healing Practice

This is Photo-based healing.

Through guided movement, stillness, and intuitive portraiture, we create images that hold something real.

The Seen Self is not just a photoshoot.
It’s not therapy either.
It’s something in between—
a space where you get to feel instead of pose,
exhale instead of perform,
and be witnessed without needing to explain a thing.

6 Things You Should Know Before Booking

1. This is a photoshoot. A therapeutic one.

Yes, there’s a camera. Yes, you’ll walk away with photographs.
But this isn’t about looking good for the sake of it. This is photography used as a tool—for expression, for release, for reconnection. You’re not being styled. You’re being seen.

2. You don’t have to perform.

You don’t need to come in confident, composed, or camera-ready.
You can show up messy. Quiet. Numb. Cracked open.
These sessions are made for the version of you that usually hides.

3. Movement is invited—but not required.

You don’t need to dance or “do” anything.
We move if it feels good. We stay still if that’s what’s honest.
You’ll be guided gently, but nothing is forced.

4. The healing is in the feeling, not the posing.

This isn’t about getting the “perfect shot.”
It’s about letting your body tell the truth. About what’s ready to be witnessed.
The images are a byproduct of presence—not perfection.

5. This is a space where nothing is wrong with you.

You don’t need to fix anything to be photographed here.
You don’t need to be healed to begin the process of healing.
You just need to show up as you are—and trust that’s enough.

6. You don’t have to know what you’re here to process.

You don’t need a perfectly articulated reason.
You might just feel disconnected from your body. Or stuck. Or like something inside is asking to be seen.

That’s enough.
You don’t have to name it for it to matter.
You just need to show up as you are—and trust that’s enough.

FAQs

  • No. This is a healing practice, not a clinical one.
I’m not a licensed therapist—and this isn’t a replacement for mental health care.

But photography, when done with intention, can act as a form of expression, reflection, and emotional release.
It’s not just about taking pictures. It’s about creating space to feel something, shift something, see something differently.

Many people experience these sessions as deeply therapeutic—but what happens here is art, presence, and intuitive support. Not diagnosis, advice, or fixing. Just… space to be.

  • Absolutely not. There’s no choreography, no pressure, and no right way to “show up.”
You can be still. You can move. You can cry.
I’ll gently guide when needed, but the session flows from how you feel, not how you look.

  • Then you’re in the right place.
This work isn’t about performing confidence. It’s about meeting yourself where you are.
Whether you’re anxious, grieving, or just holding a lot—there’s space for that here. We’ll go slow.

  • Whatever lets you breathe.
You can bring layers, textures, something meaningful, or come undone. We’ll talk beforehand to help you feel comfortable and aligned with the mood you want to express.

  • Yes. I travel and offer custom experiences for retreats, galleries, and healing spaces.
